Im not your average festival goer, but when a friend of mine suggested I came along and joined the rest of my old year from school at reading festival, I kinda jumped on the idea. Catching up with everyone and getting to see and few bands some new, and some that that I have loved for a long time now seemed a perfect way to get back and talk to some old friends.
For those of you who may be confused, Reading is a place, and although you could also look at that sentence and wonder what kind of a Festival exists where you go to learn about literature for a weekend? I promise, its nothing like that at all, its a packed weekend full of music, alcohol and disgusting festival toilets that you cant avoid (even if, like me, you had a luxury toilet pass)
Two door ciniemar club on the saturday night.
I had a really enjoyable 6 days of camping and as sleepless and druken as the nights were, with old and new friends, I had a really good time and its definatly something that has helped me get back into soical circles at school after being away for a long time.
Imagine dragons and two door cinema for me were the highlight of the festival and although neither of them were the headlining acts they both had a really great atmosphere. although i do feel i have only slightly dipped my toe in the festival water i have defiantly got “festival fever” and cant wait till the start of the festival season next year.
I’ve been in a rush these last few days, but fancied putting a little time aside to write a post quick and general as it may be; writing just seems to be a great escape at the moment for me and something I am really enjoying, so I thought I’d share my top 5 films at the moment.
5: Tangled. Tangled for me is a recent favourite owing to the fact that it only came out a few years ago and I, at that time, thought my self then much to ‘mature’ to still be watching Disney films and dismissed it until about 1 year ago. I love the whole twist they put on the classic Rapunzel story
4: Coming to america. This film came out exactly 10 years before I was born.. but it is still a clasic and a personal fav of mine. Eddie Murphy has to be one of the best actors and was a favorite when I was younger in his versions of Dr Doolittle. Coming to america is a great comady for everyone and it gets me every time. I first saw this film 5 months ago and have watched it around 5 times already.
3. Grave Encounters. I am a hudge horror flim fanatic and its surprising only one horror has made it into my top 5. Maybe because i havent seen many of the classics… But this film had me and one of my friends screaming, hiding and flying across the room as we were so scared and I never normally get scared at films of this genre. Its set in an abandoned mental hospital which is scary enough without all the added extras they put in and the great camera angles that really sudder your spine. A serious must for any die hard horror fan like me.
2: Harry Potter and the half blood prince. I myself am surprised that this film only got to number 2 in my list as about 1 week ago the whole list would be full of harry potter. But if I could only watch one for the rest of my life it would be this one. I think that its my favorite due to the tragic ending and answerd questions it has throughout, The film I know is nothing to the book but it is still a great film and the best of the potters for me!
1: My top and most favorite film ever is probably one any one could guess if they new me. not only is the main male character EXTREMLY attractive but the whole film is a beautiful story and one that has me almost in tears every time… Titanic. I cant physically bring myself to reveiw this film as its so beautiful it needs to be watched its self. I again have only first seen this within the last maybe month and I have fallen In love with the whole story, characters and grace behid the film. Leonardo has to be the most beautiful creature alive in this film and I know he’s too old for me but then he was perfect.
A boring post but one I hope to look back on in the future and re-watch my favorite films as a 30 year old.
I needed a new pair of earrings so popped into accessorize in Hitchin to see if they had any on sale, I picked up 3 pairs of silver earrings for £5 then saw these beauties hanging around by the till. I’m going to be pretty honest on this one the bottle is what caught my eye and made me fall in love with them until I saw the colours… and then the price…. 50p!
There was so many different colours to choose from. most had 70% off there usual £5 price point making them only £1.50 but the 4 I picked were all down to 50p each.
The colours I picked up where: White out, your classic white nail varnish but in the prettiest bottle around, Almond the most beautiful muted purple/brown (on my middle and pinky finger) this colour has to be my favourite of the lot only needing one coat for full coverage and what does that mean?? Its soooo super quick to dry!
Whimsical an iridescent shimmered mint which took around 3 coats but is such a summary colour I know I will wear, and finally Misty the best, again muted, blue/grey I have tried (on my thumb)! even topping my Essie one in a similar colour!
I seriously suggest you pop out to your local accessorize and pick a few up for 50p even if the colour doesn’t suit the bottle is so pretty you still feel content with your purchase!
Each day like most people in this world, I grab the same foundation, same Blush, same Highlight, same bronzer, same powder, same primer etc and I thought I might as well do a post on my every day makeup routine as its something that is pretty ingrained into my life and something I know super well. Its also something I have never shared with you guys so it seemed a pretty perfect post for a Sunday afternoon.
I am sooooooo bad at trying new products and end up just sticking to the products I know and love, using them until I’m even cutting the packaging to reach the last ounce of product inside.
For my face I simply use NYX photo loving primer, Loreal true match foundation in rose vanilla and my favourite drug store concealer the maybelline fit me concealer in their lightest shade.
On the cheeks my favorite products have to be highlight, as you can tell by most of the products in the pics below being shinmery, my anastasia starburst highlight compact has to be a favorite go to!
On my eyes i like to keep it simple for an everday look and use onlt around 2-3 shades from my sweet peach pallette and them all being the more matte subtle shades in the pallete. At the moment O have also been loving pencil eyeliner with more of a felt one over the top (when i have time).
Lastly lips,I am a huge lover of a nude lip and at the moment i am obsessed with honey love by mac, its my only mac lipstick and I just feel it adds somethig extra in an everyday look.
I came back from holiday in the early hours of Saturday morning and planed on spending most of the day lounging around but, being me, ended up popping out late in the afternoon to pick up a few bits for school as I’m going back on Tuesday. Ov corse I couldn’t just go shopping for a ruler and a new pen so ended up bringing a few more bits home than I expected…
I have just come back from holiday also I wasn’t really loaded with cash after buying myself and my friends some Moroccan lamps as I knew they would love them and didn’t mind spending about more on something they would actually really like.
From Superdrug I brought the Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow palate in Iconic 3. I think its meant to be a dupe of naked 3 mixed with some smokeyer colours but I don’t have the pallet so I’m not sure. I brought this mainly for Reading festival as it was only £4! And is much more safe to take than one of my other pallets for £4 even if its rubbish I won’t complain. Also from Superdrug picked up the Lash sensational mascara it was on buy one get one half so me and mum just split the bill and brought one each as mine had completely gone dry after holiday.
I also brought the NYX eye shadow base to help the colours last a touch longer and this was also around £3 ish I think.
The last makeup bit I got was the mac lip liner in subculture to go with my matte lipstick I got from mac in Corfu town for £9 as there was 25% off all mac there. I brought the lipstick In honeylove as velvet teddy (my fav) had sold out and swatched this one and fell in love but they didn’t have a sutible lip liner so I waited till I got back to england and could get a liner that would match both honey love and velvet teddy and was recomended this one.
And finally I popped into lush and brought i think its yoga bomb they don’t label them any more in my local lush so I’m not sure but I think its yoga bomb. Its 100% my favourite scented bath bomb as it smells just like the lush store just not quite so overpowering and turns your water bright orange.
Well today I’m stepping on a plane with my parents for the first time since 2008. We decided to book an impromptu holiday to corfu for the week as the greek islands is somewere I have ALWAYS wanted to go and seenas I dont start school till the week after we thought it a better time than any (plus its super cheap) so here is what I’m taking on the plane…
For a short haul flight there isnt realy much to take and we have a weight limit so I only really packed the essentials.
The grey blanket on the edge is a kind of wrap poncho blanket which is perfect incase it gets abit nippy on the plane.
Elle magazine my favorite fashion magazine that im tearing my hair out not to read.
Hand Wipes and gel I just feel this an essential as theres so many germs on the plane its nice to freshen up.
Gum and polos because I really couldnt choose Ill probably just take the polos as there super easy as you dont need a bin.
The rest is probably self explanatory and I also have an eye mask to put in but yeah this is what I’m taking to corfu in my hand luggage.
I am one of those few teens who have decided to jump on the grey hair trend and for the past 2 and a half weeks I have had grey hair and I have already learnt some important tips and hear are my top 3.
Get a shampoo that is for grey or coloured hair and avoid anti-dandruff shampoos. To get to my grey hair I had to do the worst thing any one can do to their hair and bleach it then I had to tone it and finally add some grey dye. To keep the color as strong as the day I dyed it I have been using a grey shampoo and it has kept the colour up a dream.
Prime your hair before you Bleach it Yes I did the dreaded bleach, but before I did it i kind of ‘primed’ my hair with coconut oil. It was the first time I had bleached my hair and I had heard so many horror stories from friends and family of hair going like straw or even going green and I was so worried but I had heard that coating your hair in coconut oil the raw organic kinda can prevent it from going strawey and omg did it work my hair is better than it was before I bleached it so I can only imagine what I would have done to my hair if I hadn’t bleached it.
Don’t wash your hair often: one mistake I made was washed my hair like I used to. Grey hair still gets oily but you can’t see it as much and the oils on your head are only doing it wonders.
Its very easy when you find something new to jump straight in, give it your all and quickly become engrosed letting it take over you life. Ideas for blog posts have been popping into my head left right and centre which is very useful for me considering the amount of s**t that goes in and out of my head all day. Drafting post after post I’m so eager to press the so eye catching and tempting orange publish button but I know I must restrain my self and I know my posts need proof reading by someone else before I do publish them.
I have many drafts saved for future posts and am hoping so dearly that I remain focused on providing a ‘long term service’ wait what? providing high quality meaningful posts rather than ones i have coined up at half 1 in the morning because I can’t sleep. I feel Blogging is such a healthy habit to get into and can in the long run be rather re-warding *fingers crossed*.
Being out of education and having nothing better to do, I sit down with my coffee and banana and try and be artsy by taking some snaps (as pictured below ha). I sit and think about things I enjoy and will be a reminder of the real world when I’m not in the right frame of mind and try and convince my self that this is reality not the state I’m in at that moment.
I’m so eager to put up posts but I’m not going to be so jumpy and post something that hasn’t got thought in it or that I will regret. So as such I plan to write save and edit posts a week before I post them to insure that they are and the content is what I want. This post is a reminder for me in the future for when I feel like just blurting out my feelings on the internet that probably don’t make sense or I will soon regret.
Sometimes its nice to just keep things simple whether that be in beauty routines or just life in general and that is something I have tried to do with my skin care routine, just keep it simple in both amount of products and ingredients within those products. There can’t be anything good with bundling loads of chemicals on your face as much good as they say they do I would much rather use something with much more natural ingredients I’m not quite there yet but I’m slowly adding in a more natural alternative to my routine when I find a product that works super well for me.
This is nothing special Its a face wash. But with no harsh chemicals what so ever it works wonders on any skin type and really does help prevent and sooth any breakout one may have 😉 I just wash my face with this in the morning and before bed and find myself ready to go. I could easily stop at this step but I honestly enjoy my whole skin care routine too much!
Step 2: Next I use this Micellar water from La Roche-Posay. This and the Taaj Micellar water have to be my favourite they are so soothing and cooling and I know this is basically the same as step 1 but I find the Micellar molecules really break down and remove the makeup my original cleanse may have missed. I mainly use this at night.
Step 3: This is a new step in my skin care routine but its something and can now no longer live without. I have normal-oily skin generally all over and that is what a toner is for. I find it really tightens my pores and helps improve the look of my skin overall. This specific one found its way in as a freebee when I ordered my Zoeva brushes and was shocked when I realised it was the full size one!
Step 4: I use this Embryolisse moisturizer in the day time and a body shop one at night but I didn’t have that to hand. I have heard a lot of people say this is the moisturizer they use on celebrities before photo shoots and I can see why after applying your face feels so super smooth and a little sure does go along way! I highly recommend this as a day time moisturizer and I know some people don’t see the point of having two separate moisturizer but your skin goes through different environments all day yet at night remains calm and has no/ less damage occurring to it so you do need separate creams!
I never used to be a person for a coloured lip using only lip balm even if I was going out. For years I only owned 1 lipstick and brought it religiously each and every time I needed a new one. Topshops Nevada was the lipstick I loved for about 2 years never straying away from it as though I was bound in its grasp. But recently I have been wanting to venture out and saw that Boots had a 3 for 2 on L’oréal’s new exclusive lipsticks and thought I might give them ago. Like my beloved Nevada these are all nudeish lipsticks 4 of them are from the nude section and 2 from the delicate rose yes I brought 6 but I loved 4 of them so much I new I could get all 4 and that ment 2 free so why would I ever say no?
The 2 delicate rose lippies are much more matte than the other 4 so they are a tiny bit more drying on the lips. The two colour I brought were Eva and Helens. These lipsticks were designed by celebrities but only some of them I have actually heard of is that bad?
They are both gorgeous colours but Helens is so pale it barely shows on the swatch in fact I’m not even sure you can see it (swatches below) but it gives your lips a lovely shimmer and I super recommend them both. Considering they are from the same collection there is a massive difference in colour but they are both still pretty nude for the rose collection they aren’t ‘too pink’.
Theese 4 are from the nude section and are all a true nude they are not super pigmented but as a lipstick are 100% buildable although I would say the staying power on all 6 of these lipsticks isn’t fantastic but for £2.50 each it worked out who could complain? They look lovely once applied and are super smooth and feel so creamy when applying so I would recommend you go and try a few before they go! These 4 have more of a shimmer to them but only slight, the sort of shimmer you can only really see when your lips hit the light. My favourite of all of them has to be j lo’s nude as it is for my skin tone a perfect nude considering her self is actually of a darkercompletion to me.
