NYX. England beauty fanatics heaven

This post is a bit late sorry I wrote it up weeks ago… As you can tell by almost every British beauty obsesse’s blog or youtube NYX is now available super easly and conveniently in the UK. I first found this out browsing online at Asos & Boots noticing a few new ‘foreign’ items floating around, the original beauty blender for one. Not long after I noticed that NYX had come to highstreet Uk shops. I can honestly say I was exctatic to see this and so impaitent to try out the products.

Un fortunately I am an un employed 17 year old (well I class my self un employed as I have the lest stable job ever) and can no way afford all that caught my eye, so I limited my self to stuff I actually needed (or had some way to justify why I brought it) I dont go out much and I’m not a fan of traipsing round shops and standing in queues for hours on end so hopped online to see what I fancied. The only issue I have with this is you cant test the item before you buy and you have to look for items they dont just jump out at you. But I suppose in the age of next day delivery and free returns who can complain?

I picked up 3 lip products and a face primer all of which I have tried and all of which I have fallen in love with.
I think I have probably tried every highstreet/ Drug store primer there is, from the weird to the wonderful. This NYX one for me is definitely in the wonderful category. I’ve never had a primer yet that I’ve gone to repurchase without having second thoughts but I have high hopes for this one even if it is early days. My makeup just seems to stay on my face and as simple as that sounds I mean it STAYS. No patchy foundation or concealer in sight. I still have to top up on a touch of power after maybe 5-6h but with no wear near as much as I have had to in the past! I 100% recomend.

NYX studio perfect, photo loving primer (clear)

Then the 3 Lip products that some how found there way into my basket wear; 2 Matte lipsticks and a Matte lip cream

I will add swatches but the images were perfectly terrible, whoops. And I really just want to get this post out :).

From L-R Matte lipstick in Butter a Lovely darker more coffee nude. Matte lip cream in London similar to Butter but a cream so much easier to apply but it does have less staying power, and finally another Matte lipstick in Natural which confuses me really as it isn’t a nude I would say more of a browned pink but lovely all the same.

The application of these 3 are beautiful the lip cream is super moisturising  and the lipsticks have super staying power and compared to other drug store lippies are not drying in the slightest.

Enjoy your week!

Blog Pics

Wow a short post?!?

When starting this blog and still to this day the hardest thing I find is getting the perfect snap. Im a keen photographer but normaly of natutal beauty, self portatit photography (no not selfies) and normal people, displaying emotion and life. Its so hard for me to experiment and take pictures of something so lifeless as a peice of plastic or metal. As beautiful as some of these products and packadges are I just find them so hard to get a good picture that will draw in a reader so if any one has any tips for how to get emotion into an emotion less pic please share!

I am a super novice in this field so any help would be great!

Zoeva ‘Bamboo’

I am the sort of person who normally sticks to what they know and love. Personaly though, I am yet to find a set of brushes that work for me giving me that so called ‘flawless finish’ so its understandable that I have been hunting for a while. lets be honest here though in real life and without computer editing even the most beautiful of people have flaws (which are, to be fair, not necessarily a bad thing in any way and I personally am a massive campaigner for natural beauty rather than ‘boycotted beauty’ as I like to call it).

Whilst on my hunt around I kept clicking on and off the Zoeva brushes I had browsed a fair few brands but eventually the whole vegan and ‘eco friendly’ claims Zoeva make about there bamboo brushes made me want to try a few. I brought 4 brushes individualy and not in the set as I feelt like I was getting what I wanted rather than brushes I had no intrest in and wouldnt use. I, most likely, will still hunt and try other types and brands of brushes but there is something slightly satisfying in having a whole set of matching brushes. But to me I would rather have brushes that worked for me than ones that looked nice.

The brushes I picked up were the 142 concealer buffer, the 104 buffer brush, 105 hightlight brush and the 227 soft definer. I chose these 4 as I dont own any to similer so I had some way to justify my purchases (which I have to do a lot)
The 104, first on the left,is an absolutely beautiful beautiful brush. It is super soft but also very dence (Very fine brissles but alot of them) in a sort if stippling brush style wear the brushes head is flat and not taperd or domed in any way. I’ve used this brush 5/6 times and I couldnt believe how well it buffed in my foundation. Normally for this I would use my Beauty Blender but I found this did an equally good job as I have only used one product on this brush. So I found concealer wasnt combined with my foundation all over my face unlike I find with the beauty blender as I used to use 1 for my whole face meaning it was applying concealer in places that just didnt need it. With this I feel like I am in control of were the product goes and where it blends. I washed all the brushes before taking theese pictures so if anyone is interested in how I got them back to basicly new condition leave a comment below 🙂

One thing I love about theese brushes is the colour of the brissles. Them being a lighter colour means you can see when and where your brush needs cleaning.

The next brush along is the 227 soft definer, I havent used this brush yet as im still deciding what I want it for but it again is super soft I suspect I will probably use it for my eyes as its small fluffy and looks like it will blend beautifully and by using the other brushes this brush I have high expectations for!

The 105 highlight brush is AMAZING I often dont use brushes for the purpose they state they are for but for highlight and contour I find this brush works wonders. It fits beautifully on the apples of my cheeks the brissles are lovely and fine and dust my cheeks so so well with the perfect amount of product I cant get enough. Even with creme highlight it blends beautifully. The brissles on this brush are much longer than the 104 so it provides a much lighter coverage. Theese brushes being vegan for some reason put me of as I thought the brissles might be horrid and synthetic expecting a sort of plasticity feel but they are the complete opposite!

Finally I picked up the 142 concealer buffer. Ive never really used a brush for my concealer before I’m normally super lazy and just use my fingers or my Beauty Blender, which I am still in conflict over what I prefer and am slightly leaning more towards my Beauty Blender, but its early days for this brush and I have high hopes! It does blend really well and is a perfect buffer brush as it is super dense.

Sweet Peach Ov Course

When the postman came today I wasn’t expecting anything in particular maybe a letter from the bank or a junk leaflet from one of the many companies I am stupidly subscribed to. But when my dad walked into my room his hands behind his back and slowly held up a parcel with Debenhams plastered all over I new exactly what was inside. I literally tore the package from his hand as though it was the last piece of food in the world. I say this as my mouth was literally drooling in excitement. Inside was my Too Faced Sweet peach pallet. I had been after this pallet ever since it was announced at the beginning of 2016 I think? Seeing many other bloggers with this beauty in there possession made me more jealous than I have ever been before over anything ever (poor english there Rosie).
Mondays for me and everyone else in this world are a day of dull realisation that there is a real life out there with a job/ school to attend and many other un-exciting aspects of life but how can I feel this way even slightly when my beautiful pallet had just arrived. Ok I’m going to stop with the story of my life and talk to you about the pallet its self.

The name ‘Sweet Peach’ is completely right but not only for the classic scented eye shadow expectation that comes with any too faced pallet but the colours them selfs are the perfect peachy peachy ness and are super for the spring and summer. They are all the perfect beautiful colours. Each and every pallet has its runts but in this pallet even the runts are not a slight disappointment, as much as I may only find my self wearing them out of pure excitement or tightness (I.e. not wanting to waist any product) they are still no let down.

Unlike most people I suppose I didn’t want this pallet at all for the smell. For me it is a slight turn off. I mean its a nice smell but I can’t help but think how synthetic it is and chemical based I just think it can’t have any benefits other than a novelty product I suppose.

Again unlike most people I do not actually like all the too faced packaging I find it clumpy bulky and a hassle for storage as some of it is very odd in shape but this pallet I can say I do adore the packaging. I do have some definite favourites even just by looking at it, I was slightly disappointed that it came on a Monday though as I do myself a favour and avoid all makeup on a Monday but it doesn’t mean I can’t spend my day just admiring it.

Talk derby is really a deep blue and tempting I explain further down.

The colours I personally have fallen in love with are Bellini a colour I haven’t really tried on my eyes before its a gorgeous nudey pink with a slim shimmer running though of gold, Luscious, again a more nudey shimmerd shadow it reminds me slightly of half baked from the original naked pallet and Caramelized. Although the others are beautiful just as much as them 3. I would probably combine the matte and shimmer colours with each other to create a perfect smokey eye which depending on the colour combinations you choose could be slight and subtle or beautiful and bold. Each of the shades have an orangey undertone to them, having blue eyes this is perfect for me, it really brings out my eyes as a deep but bright blue something I long for.

The ‘runts’ as I call them, for me, are Delectable a shadow with nothing special going for it really its a general purple with a slight gold shimmer., Bless her heart and olive green colour again with a gold shimmer running through and Tempting again a green but this one is much deeper with a sight shimmer. These colours I just feel unsure about. They are much to bold for me alone even smoked but I’m sure I can find a way to work them into a look some how. Ok now writing about them and admiring them for well over an hour the 3 colours i love and the 3 colours I’m not to sure on are all the ones with the goldish shimmer running through but I promise there are matte shades and one shade named candid peach which has much larger more of a glitter shimmer rather than a slight shimmer running through.

Really you just need to go and experience the beauty of this pallet for yourself!

That Generic ‘First Post’

What would a Blog be without a first post and a disclaimer into why this Blog was started in the first place? I suppose like any other ‘Blogger’ I thought this a perfect place to write down my thoughts and ideas on different aspects of life and to appreciate the little things the world offers. (okay that was rather cheesy).

Personally I always said that when I got a new computer it would be a better excuse than any to start my own Blog and join the new ‘Internet Era’! Its quite a nice thought that you can have your own little space on the Internet, to write whatever you want. (within reason I suppose, although I know some people abuse this power. especially the media. which to me is just a blog like this with a rather critical view of the world).

To be honest I have no plans for this blog. I suppose its more for me to look back when I’m older and reminisce in oar of all the things I did when I was younger and re-live some of the things I loved back in the ‘teenies’. The name for the years of 2013-2019 I heard.. although personally I don’t feel this sounds quite right. Nor does the naughties lucky for me I was born in the nineties (although only by a few years) so I can at least say with confordance the decade I was born in without feeling and sounding completely idiotic (no offence)

I’m a passionate writer and after this intro that I could easily spend about 1h writing but know that it would be of no interest to me let alone you guys. I’m going to stop hear and let my blog speak for itself!

*side note I am writing this blog using a name that isn’t mine as at the moment I do not feel confidant in divulging you guys so much into my life. I want to look back on this with my children with them not knowing its me and see what they think honestly of life back in the early 21st century!
